Mergency
is a fast-paced traffic management game where you control a four-way intersection — one lane at a time. Use WASD to open and close lanes, letting queued cars through while keeping traffic flowing. The longer you survive, the more chaotic it gets: spawn rates climb, cars grow impatient, and angry drivers will honk, speed up, or even run red lights. Let the wrong car wait too long, especially an emergency vehicle and it's game over.

Earn points for every car that clears the intersection, but watch your anger management: happy cars score full points, while furious ones cost you. Push through Rush Hour events for double points and survive increasingly wild modifiers like Gridlock, Broken Signals, and Contagion to chase the highest score possible.

Rules

  • Direct traffic through a four-way intersection without crashes. Survive as long as possible for the highest score.
  • Use the WASD keys to control which lane stays open. W = North, S = South, A = West, D = East.
  • Red-lane cars queue at the stop zone. Opening the lane releases them one by one. Green-lane arrivals pass straight through.
  • Only one lane is green at a time. Switching opens the new lane and closes the old one.
  • Cars award points when they exit the intersection. Reach the highest score.
  • All cars with no anger give 10 points, special cars offer 20 points.
  • Waiting cars grow angry over time: None → Low → Mid → High. Increasing anger levels cause loss in points for that car.
  • Angry cars honk, get a speed boost, and may eventually break traffic rules. Cars stuck behind others also build anger.
  • A car at High anger long enough may run the red light on a random path. Only the first car in a queue can rage-break.
  • Fire Trucks, Ambulances and Garbage Trucks enter a Critical countdown once on the highest anger level, release them in time or the game ends.
  • Spawn rate increases over time. Bursts of rapid spawns become more frequent as you survive longer.
  • Day and night alternate every 2 minutes. Each half-cycle triggers one Rush Hour event.
  • Floating emoji bubbles show each car's anger tier, escalating from annoyed to rage.
  • A Rush Hour is a 50-second chaos event that occurs once per half-cycle (day or night).
  • All points earned during a Rush Hour are multiplied by 2×.
  • Crashing two cars from different lanes causes game over.

Rush Hours

  • E-Mergency- Special vehicles spawn more often, its an emergency.
  • Opposite's Day - Lane controls are flipped (N flipped with S, E flipped with W).
  • Office Hour - Cars spawn pre-angered at Low tier and escalate quickly.
  • Gridlock- 3× spawn rate and cars get angry twice as fast.
  • Contagion- When any car honks, all other waiting cars jump up one anger tier.
  • Rush Roulette - Every 5s, each lane has a 25% chance to fire a 3-car burst.
  • Sticky Keys- 3-second cooldown after every lane switch.
  • Broken Signal - The active lane randomly switches on its own every 2 seconds.
